Junior Achievement has provided me with a platform to explore my entrepreneurial tendencies. I joined my first JA company at the age of 16 and then moved on to become the President of the second one formed, Plastato. Throughout my two year journey, I was instilled with the confidence to challenge my curiosity. I am certainly a better leader, innovator, and connector because of my involvement. Since leaving Junior Achievement and high school, I’ve started three tech startup companies in the areas of EdTech, 3D & 4D printing, and Big Data, worked with NASA, CERN, Red Cross International, and the UN in developing technologies for underserved communities worldwide, and traveled to various countries all over the world to investigate their entrepreneurial climate.
As a result, I have had the honour of being featured in the Junior Achievement Worldwide #100Lives Campaign and have been the recipient of the Queen’s Young Leader’s Award and the Prime Minister’s Youth Award.
My time is now spent mostly thinking about ways in which technology can transform developing nations to bring economic fruition. I am now the Co-founder and Executive Director of Next Gen Creators – a non-profit dedicated to promoting digital literacy and tech-entrepreneurship in the Caribbean. I also serve as the Jamaica Youth Ambassador to the Commonwealth where I highlight concerns throughout the diaspora
