Junior Achievement Jamaica in partnership with Scotiabank is hosting its 7th annual Scotia Bank Road to Success Programme.

This programme is designed to provide young people with the necessary tools through hands-on workshops to help them succeed in life and successfully face economic challenges.

The objective of the programme is to raise awareness among youth about the importance of managing their finances and to have clear professional goals, interests, and values for a successful future.

Jamaica is one of fifteen countries participating in the Programme and it includes three phases:

PHASE I:

The delivery of the JA Economics for Success Programme

This will be led by facilitators from Scotiabank and Junior Achievement Jamaica through face-to-face delivery.

This consist of six core lessons which will be taught during school hours from 8:00 am- 2:00pm.

Each lesson is built around interactive activities through discussions and didactic games.

(Delivery dates will be shared upon school’s registration)

PHASE II:

The implementation of an Innovation Camp

The JA Innovation Camp is a one-day, intensive experience that engages students with entrepreneurial and collaborative learning opportunities. The students are divided into teams and are all presented with the same hypothetical social challenge and given the goal of finding a creative and innovative business solution to the social challenge presented.

The Innovation Camp will include awards of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes for tablets, medals, and trophies. The 1st place winner will automatically enter the Regional Innovation Competition.

This activity will be hosted virtually. (Tentative date is May 2023)

PHASE III:

Regional Innovation Competition

This competition will feature the winner from the Innovation Camp, and they will represent Jamaica at the regional competition.

The competitors will be regional countries from Latin America and the Caribbean.
